The Bucks stop here! Devils WIN!!!

In front of what might have been the largest non-Riverside crowd in almost 25 years, the Old Forge football team gave their fans what they have been longing to see - a victory over a state-ranked, former Big 11 team.

And it was a convincing victory at that.

Playing before a paid crowd of 4,487 the Blue Devils posted a 21-0 shutout of Dunmore at Veterans Memorial Stadium last Friday night to remain undefeated on the season.

Anthony Piccolini opened the game with a 29-yard kickoff return to set Old Forge (4-0) up at their own 31. Brian “Bubba” Tomasetti rushed five times for 34 yards on the first five snaps of the game, but an incomplete pass on third down forced the Blue Devils to punt.

On the punt, Bobby ‘BR3” Rinaldi forced a fumble by the punt returner and junior Jake Manetti was there to pounce on the loose pigskin at the Dunmore 14.

Tomasetti picked up where he left off, and on his fifth straight carry, the senior tailback followed guards Paul Papi and Tony DeSando, and center Tyler “Tippy” Clark into the endzone for a 2-yard touchdown. Matt Mancuso blasted the extra-point, and the Blue Devils led, 7-0 with 6:06 showing on the Big Board.

Tomasetti carried the ball on 10 of the Blue Devils first 12 plays, including the punt, for 48 yards.

Defensively, the Big Blue Wrecking Crew set the tone on Dunmore’s first series - and they needed to.

Mike Kolcharno returned the Old Forge kickoff 55 yards to the Old Forge 32. But Jorden Sekol and Tony DeSando made sure the Bucks would get no further, stopping Dunmore for a 2-yard gain, and a 2-yard loss on first and third down.

In between, the Bucks gained five yards on a shot pass and jumped offsides for a 5-yard loss. A fourth down pass then fell incomplete and Old Forge took over.

The Dunmore defense was just as tough, but it would be the Blue Devils who shined on that side of the football, holding the Bucks without a first down until the third quarter.

After the teams traded possessions, Old Forge was stopped on three downs. But punter Shane Schuback was run into on fourth-and-12 so the Blue Devils elected to punt again from their own 28.

Schuback kept the snap and tried to run for the first down, but Dunmore stopped the Old Forge TE/LB on his on 26 to take possession.

On first-down, Piccolini tipped a pass behind the line of scrimmage and Schuback scooped up the fumble and returned it to the Old Forge 40 to give the Blue Devils the ball right back.

Old Forge picked up four first downs on the possession, but with first-and-goal from the 9, the Blue Devils stalled and Mancuso missed a 27-yard field goal after a bad snap.

Taking over at its own 20, Dunmore went a quick three-and-out, and after Mike Vieira returned the ensuing punt 16 yards to the Bucks 29, Old Forge went back to Tomasetti who rushed four straight times for 32 yards.

But on third-and-6 from the Dunmore 7, Old Forge quarterback Brenden Wahl was flagged for illegal grounding which resulted in a loss of down. The Blue Devils again sent Mancuso on the field to attempt a 34-yard field goal, but the kick was short after a bad hold mistimed the kick.

Old Forge held the Bucks once again, and Wahl took a knee as time expired in the first half.

The Blue Devils completely dominated the first 24 minutes of action, limiting Dunmore to just 19 yards of total offense on 14 play. Meanwhile, Old Forge gained 154 yards of total offense with 94 coming from Tomasetti who had 20 carries.

The Bucks looked like a different team after the break, gaining two quick first downs before Joey Bruno and Sekol stopped Kolcharno for no gain on second-and-8 from the Dunmore 41.

Momentum changed on the next play.

Tomasetti intercepted a Mike Kujawski pass in front of the Dunmore bench at the Old Forge 35, came back across the field at the 50 toward the home sidelines before picking up a block from Piccolini at the Bucks 40 which paved the way to the endzone for a 65-yard touchdown return.

Mancuso drilled the PAT and Old Forge led 14-0 with 9:13 remaining in the third quarter.

Three plays later the Big Blue Wrecking Crew forced another turnover. Sekol recovered an errant pitch to give the Blue Devils the ball at the Dunmore 40.

Old Forge went back to Tomasetti, giving the powerful back the ball six straight times before No. 21 found the endzone for a 2-yard touchdown with 5:37 left in the third quarter. Mancuso added the extra-point and the Blue Devils led 21-0.

Dunmore tried to respond but DeSando came up with a crushing sack on third-and-2 for a 6-yard loss, and a fourth down incompletion gave Old Forge the ball back at its own 27 yard-line.

Old Forge ran the final three minutes off the clock in the third quarter, and then forced Dunmore into an incompletion on fourth down after the Bucks drove inside the Blue Devils 30 on 12 plays.

On the next series, Wahl hit Piccolini for a 46-yard completion on third-and-7 to put the game away as they ran the clock down to under three minutes before giving the ball back to the Bucks.

Sekol led the defense with 14 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery. Schuback added seven tackles and a fumble recovery and Piccolini added five tackles and forced a fumble.

Tomasetti also checked in with five tackles to go with his interception, and DeSando added four tackles and a sack.

B&G Blog Player of the Game: Brian Tomasetti. This award is going to have to be renamed the way Tomasetti has been playing. Bubba dominated the game on both sides of the football, carrying the Old Forge offense on his back and turning the momentum of the third quarter in the Blue Devils favor with his INT return for a touchdown.

B&G Blog Defensive Player of the Game: Ryan Paulish. I did’t have Paulish for an official tackle in the game, but the Big Boy did his fair share on the defensive front. Paulish - along with his mates on the DL - dominated up front allowing BBWC linebackers Jorden Sekol, Shane Schuback, Anthony Piccolini, and Warren Welsh “Welker” to run free and collect 28 tackles. Paulish neutralized Dunmore stud tackle Mike Boland, allowing the Blue Devils to hold the Bucks to just 74 yards rushing.

B&G Blog Play of the Game: This week’s play of the game is obviously Bubba Tomasetti’s 65-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter which gave the Blue Devils a 14-0 lead. But it was the play within this play that should get the recognition. After Tomasetti crossed the 50, he needed one block to spring him to the endzone. Enter Anthony Piccolini. Piccolini, a generous 5’8, 170 pounds, sacrificed his body to get in the way of hulking Dunmore tackle James McHale - all 6’6, 285 pounds of him. The block allowed Bubba to get to the house.

B&G Blog Coach’s Adjustment of the Game: Coach Mike Schuback did what every coach is supposed to do in the big game - feed the ball to his horse. And that’s what Schuback did by giving the pigskin to Bubba Tomasetti a career-high 29 times as the Blue Devils kept control of the game by keeping the football on offense.

Our 'Wild Thing' meets the real one

Former Old Forge Blue Devil fireballer Kyle McMyne - now a pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization - met up with Charlie Sheen - duh winning - in Arizona past week.

Oh btw, our Wild Thing matched Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn's triple digit fast ball in his last appearance for the Bakersfield Blaze last week in the California League playoffs.

That's right! The K Train hit 100 mph on the radar gun. Looks like Aroldis Chapman better watch his back - and his cars. Lol

Bobby Mills ran wild in '76

Old Forge grad Bobby Mills, left, is presented a football by OFHS Principal Chris Thomas recognizing his 1,000-yard rushing season in 1976. Mills rushed for 1132 yards during his senior season.

Blue Devils demolish Royals

On paper, Friday’s matchup between Holy Redeemer and Old Forge wasn’t close. On the field, the two teams couldn’t have been more farther a part.

The Blue Devils scored eight touchdowns in the first half - and stopped itself from scoring a ninth - in a 56-7 victory over the Royals in the home opener at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Old Forge used just 22 plays to roll up 400 yards of total offense while possessing the ball for just eight minutes in the first half of action. In turn, Holy Redeemer (1-2) ran 44 plays for 134 yards while holding onto the ball for 16:13 of the first half.

Imagine what the Blue Devils could have done if they had the ball more.

After winning the coin toss, Old Forge (3-0) used a 7-play, 62-yard drive, capped by a Brian Tomasetti 3-yard touchdown run to start the onslaught. It would be the most plays the Blue Devils would need to score the rest of the way.

In fact, Old Forge scored its next four touchdowns in just seven plays.

Holy Redeemer would try to answer the Blue Devils score with a wide open passing attack, calling 10 pass plays on its first 10 offensive snaps. But even after Old Forge muffed a punt, the Royals could not convert on fourth-and-1 from the Blue Devils 35 when Tony DeSando dropped Redeemer QB Jimmy Strickland for a two-yard loss.

On the next play, Old Forge QB Brenden Wahl hit wideout Antony Piccolini in stride for a 62-yard scoring strike down the middle of the field. Matt Mancuso added his second extra-point of the night, and the Blue Devils led 14-0 with 7:40 left in the first quarter.

Old Forge again stopped the Royals on downs when Jorden Sekol tackled Strickland short of the sticks on fourth-and-2 at the Old Forge 37.

Again, the Blue Devils took just one snap to score when Tomasetti bust through the middle on a 63-yard jaunt for a 21-0 lead with 5:41 showing on the first-quarter clock after Mancuso’s point-after.

The teams exchanged turnovers after a three-and-out forced by two tackles-for-loss by “Shuga” Shane Schuback and Ryan “Big Boy” Paulish, and again it only took one play after Warren Welsh recovered a fumble at the Holy Redeemer 5.

Schuback then took the handoff from the fullback position and powered his way in for the score. The PAT was missed, and Old Forge led 27-0 with 3:34 left in the opening stanza.

The Blue Devils caused another fumble eight plays later when Schuback and Paulish ripped the ball away from tailback Pat Villani and Sekol recovered to give Old Forge possession at its own 11.
Tomasetti went 83 yards for an apparent score just two plays later, but an illegal formation penalty nullified the touchdown. That didn’t matter much for the Blue Devils leading rusher, as the senior tailback busted loose for an 80-yard touchdown run with 9:17 left in the second quarter. Wahl added the two-point run, and Old Forge led 35-0 to invoke the Mercy Rule which would begin with the third-quarter kickoff.

Junior Brandon Yescavage got into the act on the Blue Devils next possession, sprinting 37 yard to paydirt to extend the lead to 43-0 with 6:34 left before intermission.

Tomasetti picked off Strickland’s pass on Holy Redeemer’s next offensive snap, and four plays later Sekol went off left tackle and went untouched to the pylon for a 22-yard score. Mancuso’s PAT was true and Old Forge set a school-record for points in a half with 50.

The Blue Devils were not done though.

Holy Redeemer continued to throw as they lost seven yards on 13 carries in the first half. And when you throw the football, two of the three things that can happen are bad.

Well Tomasetti piled on the Royals bad fortune when he returned his second interception of the game 45 yards to the endzone, giving the defending District 2 Class 1A champs a 56-0 lead with 2:58 remaining in the second period.

Old Forge had one more chance to cash in during the first half as the reserves stopped Holy Redeemer on its next possession on downs.

Sophomore fullback Bobby Rinaldi bust through the line on a simple dive play but was taken down at the 5 after a 30-yard line. Instead of punching it in, Coach Mike Schuback ordered reserve quarterback Brandon Vahey to take a knee to end the half of carnage.

With the clock running in the second half, and the Blue Devils reserves getting all of the playing time on both sides of the football, Vahey, a sophomore, was the star of the final two quarters.

Vahey intercepted a pass and rushed six times for 55 yards.

Holy Redeemer finally got on the board with 7:34 left in the game with its first-team playing the entire game.

Old Forge did not throw a pass in the second half, and ended the game on the Redeemer 14 when Vahey again took a knee to end the half.

Tomasetti finished with 218 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 first-half carries. The Blue Devils rushed for 401 yards as four other backs rushed for at least 20 yards.

Yescavage carried twice for 37 yards, Sekol ran twice for 25 yards, Rinaldi rushed twice for 28 yards, and Tyler Salerno carried twice for 23 yards.

Wahl finished 3-for-5 with a touchdown and interception for 93 yards. Piccolini caught two of those passes for 70 yards. Mike Vieira hauled in the other catch for 23 yards.

B&G Blog Player of the Game: Brian Tomasetti. Tough to give this award to anyone else this week. All Bubba did was rush for 218 yards and three touchdown on 11 carries in ONE HALF OF FOOTBALL!!! Oh, and on defense? Tomasetti picked off two passes, and returned one 45 yards for a touchdown. Yes that was in the first half as well as Bubba held his helmet in his hand for the final 28 minutes of the game.

B&G Defensive Player of the Game: Shane Schuback. Shuga Shane had a team-high seven tackles and forced two fumbles on the night in taking this award away from Tomasetti who had two INTs and three tackles for the Blue Devils. Schuback also did all of his damage in the first half as Old Forge called off the dogs in the second half.

B&G Play of the Game: This is usually a positive play for the Blue Devils every week, but this week’s play of the game was so wacky it gets the nod despite being a negative play for Old Forge. Facing fourth-and-12 from its own 43, Holy Redeemer set up in punt formation. The ensuing snap sailed over punter Jimmy Strickland’s head, but after recovering the loose pigskin - while under heavy duress from four Blue Devil defenders - Strickland somehow got the punt away. However while covering the gunners on the punt with their backs turned to the action, one of the Old Forge defensive backs thought the punt was actually a pass and thought nothing of touching the ball after it bounced near the Blue Devils 45. The touch however was now a fumble and the Royals recovered at the Old Forge 44.

B&G Coaching Adjustment of the Game: Coach Mike Schuback’s only needed adjustment was taking his foot off the gas pedal in the FIRST HALF! Schuback ordered reserve QB Brandon Vahey to take a knee at the Royals 5 yard line to end the second quarter.

Historical Note: Junior tight end and linebacker Shane Schuback’s first career touchdown ties him with his dad - and Blue Devils Head Coach Mike Schuback - on Old Forge’s all-time list. In 1989, then a senior defensive tackle, Coach Schuback returned a fumble/interception for a touchdown in the Eastern Conference Championship Game against Pottsville Nativity.

Devils defense dominates against WBM, 'Wahl-Ball' paces offense

Facing the daunting task of stopping Meyers tailback Parrish Bennett, the Old Forge defensive line asserted itself early and often.

After rushing for 1,700-plus yards last season at Hanover, and for 293 yards last week against Holy Cross, the senior transfer was held to just 36 yards on 19 carries as the Big Blue Wrecking Crew dominated the line of scrimmage in a 42-7 demolition of the Mohawks at Wilkes-Barre Memorial Stadium on Friday night in South Wilkes-Barre.

A rotating front four of defensive linemen Tony DeSando, Ryan Paulish, Tyler Clark, Paul Papi, Joey Bruno, Kyree Toomey, and Brandon Yescavage combined for 13 tackles as they held Bennett just six yards on his first 12 carries of the game - including eight carries for one-yard or less.

And while the defensive front had its coming-out party on its side of the ball, quarterback Brenden Wahl continued to impress on the offensive side.

Wahl - in just his second varsity start - was a perfect 7-for-7 as he did his best impression of Joe Montana, hitting receivers in stride for 255 yards and four touchdowns.

The senior signal-caller completed his first pass of the night during the Blue Devils second series when he hit Anthony Piccolini down the seem for a 73-yard scoring toss for a 6-0 lead with 4:28 left in the opening period.

Meyers responded with a 12-play drive, but a Matt DeMarco touchdown was negated by a clipping penalty. And after a Bobby Rinaldi tackle-for-loss of Bennett, and a Shane Schuback sack for a 10-yard loss, the Mohawks were forced to pun on fourth-and-goal from the Old Forge 30.

The Blue Devils then handed the ball to Brian Tomasetti who darted for 45 yards and eight yards, before stepping aside for Yescavage who went 32 yards to the Meyers’ 4-yard line.

Two plays later, Tomasetti walked into the endzone for a six-yard score with 10:08 showing on the second quarter clock. Tomasetti then ran in the two-point conversion, and Old Forge (2-0) led 14-0.

It didn’t take long for Tomasetti to find the endzone again.

On the Blue Devils next series, Wahl took the snap out of the shotgun on third-and-5 from the 50, scrambled right before coming back left to find his senior tailback wide open in the flat. Wahl put perfect touch on a pass over a defender, and Tomasetti did the rest of the work, sprinting down the visitors’ sideline to the pylon after picking up a hellacious block from Piccolini at the 25.

Shane Schuback’s PAT was goo, and Old Forge let 21-0 with 7:05 left in the first.

The defense stepped up again, holding Meyers to minus-1 yards on three carries to force a punt.

Three plays later, Wahl found junior wideout Jake Manetti behind the defense down the left hash for a 39-yard touchdown and a 27-0 lead with 3:56 left in the second stanza.

Schuback then picked off a Teageun Labatch pass on the second play of the ensuing drive, and returned the pigskin to the 16 to set Old Forge up in the red zone.

An offsides penalty on the Blue Devils negated an 18-yard touchdown run by Tomasetti, but after a pass interference penalty on Meyers and a nine-yard completion from Wahl to Mike Vieira, Old Forge hit paydirt when Tomasetti carried in from the 1.

Wahl hit Manetti for the two-point conversion, and the Blue Devils set up a second-half of the Mercy Rule with a 35-0 lead with less than two minutes remaining in the first half.

The third quarter was more of the same as Yescavage dropped Bennett for a six-yard loss, and the Big Blue Wrecking Crew forced two incompletions before Meyers punted.

On Old Forge’s first play from scrimmage in the second half, Wahl threw a perfect ball to Vieira who turned the catch into a 68-yard touchdown with 8:32 left in the third period. Schuback drilled the PAT, and the Blue Devils led 42-0.

Meyers finally answered on its ensuing drive with a seven-yard run by Labatch on a busted play against the Old Forge reserves. But it was far short of what the Mohawks would need as it would be their only score of the game.

Wahl hit five different receivers on his perfect night, again spreading it around to the Blue Devils corps.

Vieira led the way with two catches for 77 yards, and Manetti had two grabs for 42 yards. Warren Welsh also added a catch for 13 yards.

Tomasetti finished with 114 yards and two TDs on 16 carries, Yescavage added 43 yards on four carries, and Toomey rushed for 20 yards on four carries as Old Forge rushed for 180 yards on 32 carries overall.

Clark and Manetti led the defense with five tackles each.

B&G Blog Player of the Game: Brenden Wahl. On the heels of his 7-for-7 night, Wahl is now 2-for-2 on B&G Player of the Game awards. Wahl’s 255 yards and four touchdowns gives him 398 yards an five touchdowns on the season on 17-for-25 passing.

B&G Blog Defensive Player of the Game: Tyler “Tippy” Clark. Clark was unblockable in the middle of the Old Forge “44” defensive scheme, racking up five tackles while clogging up the middle.

B&G Blog Play of the Game: Brenden Wahl scrambled around and got out of trouble before lofting a nice touch pass to Bubba Tomasetti in the flats. Tomasetti then picked up a great block (“ooh the block”) on his way to the 50-yard touchdown. See it here http://wnep.com/2012/09/08/old-forge-vs-meyers/

B&G Blog Coaching Adjustment of the Game: After Meyers quarterback Teaguen Labatch and 6-foot-2 receiver Matt DeMarco tried to hook up twice over 5-foot-7 Mike Vieira on two jump-ball passes, Blue Devils Head Coach Mike Schuback moved 6-foot-2 Bubba Tomasetti from right corner to left corner to match up better with DeMarco. The next time Meyers tried to lob it up, Tomasetti picked off Labatch.

Blue Devils crown Knights in opener

Despite the preseason hype and expectations surrounding the Old Forge football team, the Blue Devils still had some major questions surrounding the opening of the 2012 high school grid season.

Could Brendan Wahl step in and succeed at being a spread quarterback?

Could Anthony Piccolini and the receiving corps replace an all-state performer?

Could Shane Schuback move to the middle of the defense and lead the Big Blue Wrecking Crew?

Well it may have taken 12 minutes to get rid of the opening-game jitters, but the Blue Devils emphatically answered all of the above questions with a 50-14 victory over Lake-Lehman on the turf at Eddie Edwards Stadium in Lehman Township on Friday night.

Old Forge trailed 7-0 after Black Knights fullback Dustin Jones rumbled for 53 yards on nine carries and a 15-yard touchdown on Lehman’s first drive of the game.

The Blue Devils gained first downs on each of its first two possessions, but an interception and an incompletion on Wahl’s first two passes stopped drives.

Junior punted Brandon Yescavage would set the Old Forge offense up with a 52-yard punt - the first of his career - to back the Black Knights up at their own 1.

The Blue Devils held Lehman on its next possession, and even though Old Forge (1-0) was stopped on four downs on its ensuing possession, the Big Blue Wrecking Crew was again up to the task.

Jorden Sekol sacked Lehman quarterback Bill Hillman for a 10-yard loss on second down, and Schuback and Kyree Toomey dropped Rob Donovan for no gain on third down to force a punt.

Six plays later, Bubba Tomasetti went 17 yards up the middle with 6:07 left in the first half to knot the score at 7-7 after Matt Mancuso extra-point.

Tomasetti rushed for 83 yards on 13 carries in the first half for the Blue Devils, but it wasn’t until Coach Mike Schuback called for the spread offense in the second quarter that Wahl got clicking with the passing game.

Wahl was 7-for-11 for 64 yards in the second quarter, hitting five different receivers.

And it was the senior signal caller who keyed the final drive of the first half with his arms - and legs.

Wahl completed four straight passes, two each to Mike Vieira and Jake Manetti, for 32 yards a Old Forge moved from its own 43 to the Lehman 34 with under three minutes to go in the second quarter.

After an incompletion and offsides penalty again the Blue Devils, Wahl scrambled for two yards avoiding a sack, and then hit Schuback along the home sidelines for a first down on fourth-and-4.

Another two-yard gain by wall, and a completion to Tomasetti, set up Mancuso’s 29-yard field goal with two seconds left in the half, giving the Blue Devils a 10-7 lead.

The defense then exploded for Old Forge.

Senior outside linebacker Warren Welsh picked off a pass on the third play from scrimmage to open the third quarter and returned the interception 37 yards to the Lehman five-yard line.

On the next play Tomasetti hit paydirt and Old Forge led 16-7 with 10:23 showing on the third quarter clock after the PAT snap was bobbled.

Three plays later, Tomasetti picked off Hill man at midfield and returned the pigskin 50 yards for a touchdown. The two-point pass for incomplete and Old Forge led 22-7 with 8:04 left in the third quarter.

And the defense didn’t stop there.

After the Big Blue Wrecking Crew allowed just 24 yards on the opening three Lehman offensive possessions of the second half, the offense went to work with Wahl completing two passes for 25 yards before hitting Anthony Piccolini in stride for a 54-yard scoring strike with 3:11 left in the third stanza.

Piccolini raced past his defender, caught the ball in stride, then carried the would-be tackler the last 15 yards into the endzone. The two-point pass was incomplete and Old Forge, led 29-7.

The defense struck again on the next possession as Piccolini picked up a fumble and went untouched for a 63-yard return to cap a 25-point third quarter for the Blue Devils. Schuback kicked the extra-point, to push the lead to 34-7 with 1:51 left in the third.

On its next offensive possession, Lehman turned the ball over once again as Manetti forced a fumble, and Schuback pounced on it at the Black Knights’ 26.

Tomasetti sandwiched two carries for 24 yards around a holding penalty before scampering 10 yards for a touchdown just six seconds into the fourth quarter. Schuback drilled the PAT and Old Forge put the game into the mercy rule at 42-7.

Lehman added a scored against the Old Forge reserves, but the Blue Devils second-team offense struck back when Yescavage went 64 yards for a touchdown with 6:16 remaining in the game. Yescavage added a two-point run for the 50-14 final score.

Tomasetti finished with 130 yards on 18 carries and three touchdowns to go with his 50-yard interception return for the TD.  Wahl finished 10-for-18 for 143 yards and a touchdown. Vieira finished with three catches for 33 yards.

Sekol led the defense with 13 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery. Schuback added 11 tackles and a fumble recovery. Welsh chipped in with seven tackles, an interception and a forced fumble.

The Blue Devils will take on Meyers on Friday night at Wilkes-Barre Memorial Stadium. The Mohawks are led by Hanover transfer Parrish Bennett who rushed for almost 300 yards against Holy Cross on Saturday in a 40-0 win.

B&G Blog Player of the Game: Brendan Wahl. When Wahl got comfortable in the passing game and started completing passes, the Blue Devils starting clicking on offense. Wahl completed 7-of-9 passes for 63 yards during Old Forge’s first two scoring drives.

B&G Blog Defensive Players of the Game: Jorden Sekol and Shane Schuback. Sekol dominated the first half with eight tackles and a sack. When Lehman started running away from Sekol, Schuback made sure nothing was doing on the other side with six tackles and a fumble recovery in the second half.

B&G Blog Play of the Game: Warren Welsh’s interception on the third play of the third quarter gave the Blue Devils a big momentum boost to begin the second half in which Old Forge put up 32 unanswered points to take control.

B&G Blog Coach’s Adjustment of the Game: After a big first quarter by Lehman running back Dustin Jones, Coach Mike Schuback moved 6-foot-3, 275-pound defensive end Ryan Paulish to defensive tackle, pairing him with Joey Bruno in the middle of the Blue Devils defense to give them added size in the middle, allowing the linebackers to roam free.
